Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church in Greenlawn, NY will be holding its Annual Greek Fest on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 13th, 14th & 15th. The festival will run from 4PM - 11PM on Friday, 11am - 11pm on Saturday, and 12pm - 8pm on Sunday! Being THE original and first Greek Festival held on Long Island,  you will enjoy our authentic, home-cooked Greek food cooked by parishioners of the church using recipes handed down over several generations and made to perfection. On top of that, there will also be a taverna, and beer garden, as well as a band playing Greek music. You can also enjoy the Greek dances performed by the church’s youth dance group, and get immersed into the Greek culture. The engine is also enough to deliver an energetic ride either around town or on a mountain road. The well-managed body lean provides nimble handling and well-tuned stability. The robust electric motor of the Niro EV can give an impressive 201 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. It is responsive and powerful to drive and can provide a reliable ride for daily commuting. The cabin noise is also low despite its strong performance. The Bottom Line The 2019 Kia Niro EV is a promising vehicle that delivers a solid performance compared to most electric cars and hybrids. It also holds an impressive tech to impress tech-savvy drivers. The only glitch is its lack of an inspiring design to make it interesting. It has thick side pillars that are too prominent at first glance. Its profile looks like it is a boxy wagon but a downsized version. Technology & Safety The fundamental MBUX system on the GLE has built-in navigation and both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integrations. The 12.3-inch infotainment screens (it has two) are responsive and intuitive to use. Example of these active safety features is blind-spot monitoring, keyless ignition, and an automatic emergency braking system. The new Explorer is well-equipped but the infotainment system it comes with is underwhelming. The touchscreen device lags so much, especially when using the navigation system. Performance Under the hood of the GLE is a 255 hp engine with 273 lb-ft of torque. There is an optional cutting-edge air suspension system that may be added across all trims. This will make the GLE more powerful than it already is by helping the car wriggle itself out of sand and mud. This is a handy feature if you are fond of going into beach trips and other off-roading adventures. The base models of the Explorer are equipped with a 2.3-liter engine for up to 300 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. It is enough to give the Explorer towing and off-roading capabilities. The Bottom Line The 2020 Ford Explorer comes strong with its high-performance engine but it significantly failed in the tech features. 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC 2019 Audi Q8 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC vs. 2019 Audi Q8 The 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC follows the tradition of being one of the brand’s best-selling luxury vehicles. The German automaker offers a couple of updates for the GLC since its release back in 2016. This year’s version will have better exterior, more impressive interior and tech features, and a new engine lineup. The 2019 Audi Q8 is a luxury flagship crossover that chose to defy the trends. Its SUV capabilities are blended with a few sedan characteristics and the result is well-received by the public. Design & Style On its exterior, the GLC now has standard LED headlights and light patterns. The grill slats are new and it has a mesh backdrop. A chrome-finished faux skid plate and more chrome on the window sills were added. The interior is also revamped to look more sophisticated and smart. The Q8 has a conservative approach to its styling. It generally took the styling cues of the Q7 but with a sculpted rear end. The designers tried to remedy the bulky rear doors by adding a few creases and arches. While it looks quite plain, the wider front and its imposing nose gave it some character. The voice control feature is a little more than the average but cannot be used for adjusting important systems such as ventilation and the seat heaters. Performance The GLC base model already has an impressive 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. This power is enough to demonstrate a spirited driving even at highway speeds. The engine range is added with mild-hybrid technology. This means that the GLC can be assisted by an electric powertrain to boost not only its performance but also fuel economy. A V6 engine is a standard for the Q8 and it delivers an impressive 335 hp and 368 lb-ft of torque. it does a decent job at accelerating but it tends to get sluggish and not too responsive on low speeds. The Bottom Line There is no doubt that the 2019 Audi Q8 may look impressive because of its engine. It, however, lacks the fun spirit that the 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLC has. The Q8’s lackluster approach for its looks is a significant turnoff since a luxury car is expected to look extra great. Performance The GLA is optimized to deliver 208 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque from its turbocharged engine. The chassis is competent enough that it stays precise and sharp even when it is along with its limits. Steering is very light thus giving the driver better maneuverability when driving. The base engine for the Countryman is a 134 hp turbocharged three-cylinder that is obviously not enough to deliver a noteworthy performance. It feels heavy to drive, unlike other Mini models that are fun and light to drive. There is a more efficient hybrid model but it takes quite a while to fully recharge. The Bottom Line The 2019 Mini Cooper Countryman is a fresh take on a slightly bigger vehicle as compared to most of the ultra-compact cars that are its brothers. If only more attention was given to improve its engine and performance. It is a nice car for city driving but you must be ready for its underwhelming performance.
