Alternatives For Children

Alternatives for Children is a not-for-profit organization that specializes in helping children with special needs and their families by creating a space for them to learn and grow. Our Dealer Principal, Jim Buzzetta, has been on the Board of Trustees for Alternatives For Children since 2005 and explains how helping AFC has truly been such an honor. Mercedes-Benz of Huntington and the entire Competition Automotive Group has been sponsoring AFC’s Annual Sports Car Rally for almost 25 years now and they couldn’t be more proud.

St. Charles Hospital Foundation

St.Charles is an acute care community hospital in the Port Jefferson area that specializes in areas such as Maternal/Child services, Orthopedics and Rehabilitation. The hospital has served residents for over 100 years with their award-winning patient care and dedication to their community. Jim Buzzetta, our Dealer Principal, has served on the St. Charles Foundation Board for many years now, and he couldn’t be more honored to help such an amazing cause.

Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church

The Saint Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church, located in Greenlawn, New York, strives to spread the message and light behind Christianity to those who visit, as well as many in the area. One of their most well-known events is their Annual Greek Festival, where neighbors get to enjoy absolutely delicious food, fun contests, and great company. We’ve been lucky enough to sponsor their Grand Raffle prize in previous years .. a brand-new Mercedes-Benz lease!

The Heckscher Museum of Art

An absolute staple in our community and throughout all of Long Island, The Heckscher Museum of Art has been inspiring residents for over 100 years now with their absolutely fascinating art collection, their dynamic exhibitions, their wonderful education programs, and their amazing events. Quickly becoming the center of recreation, social, and cultural life for the community, the museum has been able to create their vision of making art accessible to all and appreciated by the entire community. We’ve been so happy to sponsor their annual Gala and other events throughout the years and look forward to seeing them grow!

The Huntington Historical Society

The Huntington Historical Society has been committed to protecting, preserving, and interpreting the history of the Town of Huntington for over 100 years now. This absolutely incredible organization enlightens and engages people of all ages by hosting public education programs, maintaining historic properties, showcasing their historical gallery, and putting on some of the most impressive exhibits and events out there. We’re so glad to have sponsored and participated in a number of their events, including one of our favorites, their Annual Holiday Historic House Tour, and we are so eternally grateful for their dedication to our community and town.

Huntington Arts Council

The Huntington Arts Council is a not-for-profit organization that strives to brighten all lives through art. They do so by promoting the importance of art within our community, advocating for cultural awareness and education, and celebrating diversity through Long Island’s cultural resources. They have inspired and aided the growth of hundreds of art organizations and artists by showing residents first-hand how much art enriches our lives. The Huntington Arts Council offers many artistic programs, sponsored activities, exhibitions, and many other services that help develop awareness for all. We’ve been privileged to support a number of their fundraisers and other events, and look forward to a long-lasting relationship for years to come.

The Whaling Museum & Education Center

The Whaling Museum & Education Center is an absolutely magical place that inspires, engages, and educates our community on the diversity of whaling heritage and how much of an impact it has on our lives. They have been around for over 80 years now, and are well-known for their creative, innovative, and out-of-the-box approaches to tell the story of whaling, especially through their plethora of educational programs they offer throughout the year. They host an extensive amount of exhibitions, special events, school programs, birthday parties, scout trips, community initiatives, and more. We’re extremely happy that we get to play a part in helping this organization reach their fullest potential to enlighten all lives through their services.

The Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society

The Huntington Lighthouse Preservation Society was founded in 1985 and strives to preserve the beautiful and unique structure that is the Huntington Harbor Lighthouse. They are dedicated to keeping this historical off-shore lighthouse open to the public for tours and educational services and always welcome new volunteers that are interested in preserving history! We are so grateful for the society’s efforts and we are proud to support them through sponsorships and fundraising. One of their most popular fundraising events is their Annual Lighthouse Musicfest that is looked forward to by the entire community, especially the boating community! The Society of St. Johnland

St. Johnland is a not-for-profit Nursing Center Facility that provides residents with the utmost excellence in skilled nursing care and all aspects of rehabilitation, Alzheimer’s/Dementia care, adult day care, and subacute care for over 150 years now. Whether a resident is being admitted for a long or short-term stay, the St. Johnland strive to anticipate all their needs and assist them in every possible way. We’re proud to support such a caring and important organization that truly cares about their community and their residents.

The YMCA

The Huntington YMCA has been serving the children, teens, seniors, and families of our community for more than 50 years now. They have a number of programs for all such as health and fitness programs, child care and education, swimming and fitness classes, children and team parties and programs, summer day camp, and various community events and services. We’re been proud to support them for many years now by sponsoring their Annual YMCA Memorial Day Carnival, their Annual 5K Race, and more!

Pink Aid

Pink Aid’s mission is to help breast cancer patients survive treatment with support and dignity by providing screening and financial assistance to those in need, as well as empowering breast cancer survivors to heal by helping and inspiring others. They are an absolutely amazing organization who truly cares, supports, and provides unlimited compassion. They are always accepting donations to help and we are so incredibly proud to participate in sponsoring their Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon. If you are interested in supporting the cause and would like to attend a truly moving and inspiring event, we urge you to purchase tickets for their Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon. They host one on Long Island and one in Connecticut and every little contribution makes a huge difference.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is committed to advancing cures and means of prevention for pediatric diseases through treatment and research. They have treated children from all 50 states and from all around the world. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food, so they can focus on helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. We’re proud to contribute to St. Jude in any way we can to support such an incredibily important cause.

St. Patrick’s School

St. Patrick’s School in Huntington is dedicated to helping the children of our community learn, serve, lead, and succeed. They strive to inspire all their students with important skills, attitudes, and values, while promoting a sense of respect, dignity, and equality for all. They help children explore their talents and share their gifts with the world. We’re always proud to help our future leaders and support St. Patrick’s School in any way we can, such as supporting their Annual Golf Outing, donating auction items for various fundraisers, and more!

The Townwide Fund of Huntington

In 1961, a group of Huntington residents came together with the goal of helping their neighbors in need and raise funds within the community to assist local charities. Now known as The Townwide Fund of Huntington, they have raised over 12 million dollars since their inception and continues to support local health and human service organizations with the support they need to help the residents of Huntington. We are incredibly proud to help such a passionate team of volunteers who are dedicated to helping others and improving the future of our community one day at a time.

Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk

Visiting Nurse Service & Hospice of Suffolk was founded in 1952 and is a not-for-profit health care agency deeply rooted in their community and committed to providing the best possible health care to patients with a tradition of professional, charitable, and compassionate care. VNSHS continues to grow each and every year; now making over 80,000 home visits, caring for nearly 2,500 home health care patients, and 700 health care patients annually. We are dedicated to helping their organization in every way we can, especially sponsoring their largest fundraiser of the year, their Annual Golf Classic. There’s many opportunities to support VNSHS and help them make a difference every day. Every little bit counts.

Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce

Founded in 1925, the Huntington Township Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to serving the needs of its members through government advocacy, networking, community development, education, and more. They help to promote economic development, job growth, and an enhanced quality of life for the Town of Huntington and all Long Islanders. Mercedes-Benz of Huntington is extremely proud to have been a member of the Chamber for over 20 years now, and we absolutely love attending their many networking events, supporting local businesses they introduce, and sponsoring a number of their events, especially their largest fundraising event, The Long Island Fall Festival!

The East Northport Chamber of Commerce

The East Northport Chamber of Commerce has been promoting and supporting local businesses and their community for over 20 years now. The assume a variety of different roles that all result in encouraging a positive climate for doing business and living in East Northport. We’re extremely proud to act as a Major Sponsor for their biggest fundraising event of the year, The East Northport Festival. All proceeds from the festival go to beautifying the community and making our town a better place.

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. They’ve invested more than 5 billion dollars in cancer research since 1946 and continue to grow everyday. They host a number of volunteering and fundraising events that raises the majority of their funds and they are so grateful for their volunteers and donors. Together, we are all making a difference together, and we couldn’t be more proud to support them at Mercedes-Benz of Huntington.

LiveOnNY Foundation

The LiveOnNY Foundation is committed to raising and deploying charitable contributions to help increase the number of lives saved in New York. They do this through public awareness and medical education about the life saving and life enhancing benefits of organ and tissue donation and transplantation. We’re honored to have helped contribute to LiveOnNY’s mission and help them provide the greatest gift of all – the gift of life.

Northport Nursery School

Northport Nursery School has been serving the community since 1941 as a non-profit, non-sectarian organization, offering classes for children ages 2 through 5. They serve as a cooperative preschool, giving parents the opportunity to take an active role in their child’s nursery school experience. Their uniquely nurturing community is supported by their committees and various social events throughout the year, and we’re happy to have helped support their school grow and their students flourish.

Huntington Manor Fire Department

The Huntington Manor Fire District serves Huntington Station, NY, and protects 14 sq. miles of the North Shore of Long Island. The Huntington Manor Fire Department works tirelessly every single day to safeguard our stunning North Shore. As an extremely important backbone of our community, Mercedes-Benz of Huntington takes immense pride in being an active sponsor for their yearly Fireman’s Fair over the previous years.

The Caumsett Foundation

The Caumsett Foundation works directly with the Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve, located near Lloyd Harbor, New York. The Caumsett Foundation is dedicated to environmental education, low-impact recreation, environmental and historic preservation as well as conservation of scenic value. Working closely with NYS Parks, their communities, and residents (like us!) to encourage support for all things earthly! The Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve will continue to spread educational information as well as continuing to take strides towards enhancing our unique and historic environment. From sponsoring galas to spreading the word, Competition Auto Group is proud to support the Caumsett Foundation in any way we can.

EJ’s PJ’s Pajama Drive

EJ’S PJs are a local Long Island non-profit organization that has been planning and hosting donation drives since the year of 2011. Founder, Patricia Poggi and her three sons, Edward, Patrick and Jeremy utilize every new day to exhibit such selfless dedication to making everyone feel loved and accepted, especially during the holidays. Mercedes-Benz of Huntington, as well as all of our sister stores: Competition BMW, Competition Subaru of Smithtown and Mercedes-Benz of Smithtown are wordlessly proud to have the opportunity to collect donations for EJ’s PJs almost every single year!

Long Island Cares

Long Island Cares, Inc is a local non-profit organization with origins stemming from aiding Suffolk and Nassau County food and hunger insecurity agencies over the past years. Currently, Long Island Cares, Inc. distributes more than 10 million pounds of food and supplies to over 400 agencies across Long Island, New York! It is with great honor that Mercedes-Benz of Huntington, as well as all of our dealerships, continually holds a Thanksgiving Food Drive every year on behalf of Long Island Cares throughout our dealerships. Angels of Long Island

Mercedes-Benz of Huntington is proud to continuously aid Angels of Long Island as well! Angels of Long Island is a non-profit organization that offers a plethora of goods and services for Long Islanders in need. Throughout the previous holiday seasons, Mercedes-Benz of Huntington had wholeheartedly joined our Automotive Group with the goal of collecting toys, gift cards, puzzles, sports equipment and food for children of all ages on behalf of Angels of Long Island.

One Tree Planted

Mercedes-Benz of Huntington is proud to grow and upkeep an incredible partnership with One Tree Planted. One Tree Planted is a world-wide non-profit organization focused on healing the Earth, protecting biodiversity, reforestation efforts, building communities and creating healthier climates. Since 2014, One Tree Planted has planted over 100 million trees to better our Mother Earth! Mercedes-Benz of Huntington is proud to partake in some of those plants. Help Mrs. Claus

Mercedes-Benz of Huntington is busy with many philanthropic efforts throughout the holiday season, but so is Santa! Mercedes-Benz of Huntington has begun to help Mr. Saint Nick and Mrs. Claus herself. Our dealership has teamed up with the festive Mother Christmas. Mercedes-Benz of Huntington helps Mrs. Claus by helping her receive local children’s Christmas lists and wishes and delivers these Christmas miracles to deserving children. As one of our newest philanthropic efforts, it is with great pride that we deliver the gift of the holiday season from our giving tree to theirs!
