The Super Bowl this year will officially be held in Atlanta, Georgia, and this is exciting news for Mercedes-Benz as it will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium! The excitement will begin on February 3, 2019 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and for those who are not aware about this stadium, it truly is a reflection of the best or nothing vision of Mercedes-Benz. The stadium boasts 2,000,000 square feet and can seat a maximum of 75,000 people. The brand-new stadium also boasts over 600 concessions, 24 bars and restaurants, as well as over 1,000 beer taps for stadium visitors to choose from.    The outside of the stadium is also just as magnificent as what is offered inside. The stadium sits at an impressive height of 305 feet, or translated into 30 stories high. Right on the building, you can see the Mercedes-Benz star standing high and proud. What is most intriguing about the stadium is the open-air aspect to it. The stadium was constructed with a retractable roof and is only one of five NFL stadiums that is constructed as such. The retractable roof portion of the building was finally completed in July of 2018, just in time for the next Super Bowl!    Now we have yet another reason to be excited for the Super Bowl this year, and that is due to it being at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium! While usually our dealership, Mercedes-Benz of Huntington, is located in Huntington, New York, today for Halloween we are officially located in "Hauntington". For those that have not heard, today the town of Huntington is officially being renamed to Hauntington, thanks to 7-year-old Angelica Cunningham who wrote a letter to Huntington Town Supervisor Chad Lupinacci back in August. As News 12 Long Island reports, Cunningham wrote to the town in late August with a special request – add an “A” to Huntington to make it “Hauntington” on Halloween, and got the idea from her "Monster High" doll named Ari Hauntington. She was encouraged by her parents to write a letter to Lupinacci and the town board, and they all agreed it was a fabulous idea! The town board agreed with Cunningham in an unanimous vote, and she was presented with a certificate of appreciation at her school by Chad Lupinacci himself. So many signs around the town of Huntington will be displaying the word "Hauntington" rather than Huntington. It looks like we are going to have to start changing our name to Mercedes-Benz of Hauntington come next Halloween, as Lupinacci says he would like to make this a yearly tradition!  Happy Halloween from Mercedes-Benz of "Hauntington"! This weekend, we added another reason to be immensely proud of the Mercedes-Benz brand. Lewis Hamilton finished fourth in the Mexican Grand Prix for the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team, which was enough to see him crowned Formula 1 World Champion for the fifth time in his career! It's a great accomplishment, to say the least, and we could not be more proud of Lewis, as well as the Mercedes-AMG Formula 1 team. Here is a run-down of how the race went.- Full grandstands, ecstatic fans and a dry track: the Autodromo Hernandez Rodriguez showed itself in the best possible light on Sunday. - Lewis and Valtteri started the Mexican Grand Prix from third and fifth place respectively. - Lewis immediately gained one position and moved up to second. Meanwhile, Valtteri successfully defended fifth. - On Lap 11, Lewis and Valtteri made a double stop and switched from UltraSoft to SuperSoft tyres. - Lewis came in for his second stop on Lap 47, followed one lap later by Valtteri. Both had UltraSofts fitted for their second stint. - After 62 laps, the team took advantage of a Virtual Safety Car to bring Valtteri in for a third stop, enabling him to switch to HyperSofts. - Lewis finished the race in P4, one place ahead of Valtteri. - This was enough for Lewis to wrap up the Driver’s World Championship. It is the second year in a row that he has done so in Mexico.A great win for both Lewis, as well as Mercedes-Benz. Here is what Lewis had to say after the race. "Honestly, it's very hard to realise it at the moment. It's something I dreamed of, but I never in a million years thought I'd be standing here today a five-time World Champion," said Lewis. "I never knew that was going to happen and I am just so grateful to everyone who has helped me be here. I want to say a big thank you to all the fans here for making the Mexican Grand Prix as special as it is."Yet another reason why Mercedes-Benz stands behind it's motto, "The Best or Nothing." The latest news from Mercedes-Benz USA is simply electrifying - literally. It has just been announced that Mercedes-Benz will be releasing a new all-electric vehicle for the year 2020, the EQC! The new EQC will be the first vehicle produced under the naming nomenclature, EQ. With an uncompromising blend of comfort, performance, design, intelligence and technology, the EQC creates a new path not only for electric vehicles, but also for the Mercedes-Benz brand.The EQC has the same design standards as most Mercedes-Benz models do, but adds it's own twist to distinguish itself as an all-new type of Mercedes-Benz vehicle. Grille and headlamps are combined in a sleek black-panel surface at front, an arrangement accentuated by an LED Light Band at the top. On the inside, the interior exudes a sense of ultimate control from the driver, while rose-gold accents give the electric vehicle its own clear aesthetic. The interior is a perfect combination of modern technology with classic luxury.Of course with an all-new model comes all-new technology from Mercedes-Benz. Equipped with the all-new MBUX media system, the EQC responds to the driver´s natural, conversational language. The system helps to govern the car´s functions and learns over time. Here, it´s been engineered with additional EQ settings to help manage the vehicle´s charge status, energy flow, range display and other features of electric driving. The EQC also features two asynchronous motors, with compact electric drivetrains at each axle, as well as a 80kWh lithium ion battery. This battery will be able to be fully charged within 40 minutes, that way you can get where you need to go anytime you need to.   We are super excited for this electrifying new model from Mercedes-Benz, and we cannot to see it not only in our showroom but on the roads of Long Island and New York as well. Check the fluids Keeping your fluids topped off and full is important during any time of the year, but it’s a great idea to check your vehicle’s fluids during Fall Car Care Month and have whatever fluids are diminished topped off. Also, if you feel that your fluids are constantly running low, it might be a good idea to get the vehicle inspected for any leaks before the winter begins. Check the heating and defrosting system Unfortunately, summer cannot last forever and soon we will have to start cranking up the heat in both our homes, as well as our vehicles. Therefore, now is a good time to get your heating and defrosting system checked and if needed do any repairs. That way you can stay toasty and warm when the cold weather sets in! Check the tires Going into the new season, it’s important to go in with as much traction as possible! That’s why you should check your tires for any tread loss or wear that could be problematic later on. The newest compact vehicle from Mercedes-Benz for the United States market is the all-new 2019 A-Class! While the A-Class has been available over seas for some time now, the United States is in for a treat as the A-Class has been completely redesigned for 2019. Here's a little interview we did with BIG STEVE: Q: How long have you been in the automotive business? A: 35 years! And I've been with the Mercedes-Benz brand for the last 12 of them. Q: How long have you been with Mercedes-Benz of Huntington? A: I've been part of the Mercedes-Benz of Huntington team for over 3 years now. These years have been my favorite years in the automotive business so far. Q: What's your favorite thing about working at Mercedes-Benz of Huntington? A: The fact that it's a family-run business. The Buzzetta's care deeply about their employees, and we as employees care deeply about our customers.  It creates a sense of togetherness, of family.  We treat all our customers like family, across all departments - sales, service, and parts. Q: What's your favorite memory so far at Mercedes-Benz of Huntington? A: Our first company BBQ. I've never experienced something like this during all my time in the automotive business. Have you ever wondered what the Mercedes-Benz logo means? The famous three-pointed star has a lot of history and meaning behind it, besides being the trademark for the best vehicles in the world. The logo of Mercedes-Benz is recognizable everywhere, and the identity of the Mercedes-Benz brand has stood strong for a very long time. Why The Name Mercedes-Benz? Mercedes-Benz originally began as separate automobile manufacturers in Germany, Benz & Cie founded by Karl Benz in 1883, and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft founded by Gottlieb Daimler in 1890. Once Daimler passed in 1900, the company was taken over by Wilhelm Maybach, Daimler’s chief engineer. Maybach then brought Emil Jellinek into the company as a partner.   Benz, Daimler, Maybach, and Jellinek are all four people that shaped Mercedes-Benz into what it is today. From the Mercedes-Maybach being named after Wilhelm Maybach, to Karl Benz and his wife Bertha creating the first automobile, Mercedes-Benz carries a long automotive history with its brand. The name Mercedes-Benz comes from Jellinek’s daughter, Mercedes. Mercedes provided Daimler with the company tradename, and it was first used in 1902. The company used a badge featuring a halo surrounding the word Mercedes, beginning the Mercedes-Benz name we all know and love. Soon after, Daimler and their Mercedes line of vehicles merged with Carl Benz’s company Benz & Cie, creating Daimler-Benz AG, which later became Mercedes-Benz as we know it today. The History of the Mercedes-Benz Star Now we know that the name Mercedes-Benz came from Emil Jellinek’s daughter Mercedes, and the merging of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie to form Daimler-Benz. But how did the Mercedes-Benz logo come about? It all goes back to a postcard sent by Daimler to his wife in 1872. Daimler used a three-pointed star to show his wife the location of the home he was at in Germany, and wrote to her about the star rising over the industrial empire he was seeking to build one day.   Flash forwarding to 1909, Daimler’s sons Paul and Adolf recalled the postcard that their father had sent their mother, and adopted the three-pointed star as the logo for Mercedes vehicles.
