Step-By-Step – How to Change a Tire

To make this procedure easier, find a dry, flat place to park your car if possible. Also, as much as possible, avoid oncoming traffic by parking in an isolated, safe spot (as far off to the shoulder as possible if you’re on the road).

• Turn on your hazard lights, pull the parking brake handle, and move the shifter to “park”.
• In your car’s trunk, lift up the floor to find your car jack, lug wrench, and Mercedes-Benz spare tire.
• On the flat tire, loosened the lug nuts using the lug wrench. Don’t take them entirely off just yet, however. Approximately one turn or so, to simply loosen them.
• On your Mercedes, locate the jacking points. (There are guided pictures in your owner’s manual.)
• Until the flat tire is approximately 3 inches up from the ground, raise the Mercedes-Benz.
• Now you can completely remove all of the lug nuts.
• Carefully remove the tire by pulling it straight out. To get it off the hub, you may need to kick the rubber to loosen it.
• On the wheel hub, you can now place the spare tire. Correspond the holes with the lug bolts. Against the brake rotor, make sure that the spare tire is seated properly by pushing it in.
• The lug nuts can now be screwed back on. Until the wheel’s assembly is firmly attached, tighten the nuts.
• You can lower the car back down onto the ground now.
