2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS 2021 Land Rover Range Rover 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS vs. 2021 Land Rover Range Rover The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLS is one of the rides that car buyers in Huntington want to bring home to their large families. This has an upscale cabin, with comfortable seats all throughout. It has powerful engines for that ultimate driving experience. When it comes to the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover, this SUV also promises muscular engines with a smooth ride. It is also gifted with great off-road capabilities. 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 2021 BMW X2 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA vs. 2021 BMW X2 The 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA is a favorite among car buyers in Huntington. This one is gifted with fun features, all reliable for its users. The spacious interior is elegant as well. A vehicle that is fun to ride, this boasts of a sporty exterior. In the case of the 2021 BMW X2, it now features the satellite radio as a standard. It promises potent acceleration for its users. Design & Style The 2021 GLA is gifted with a big space at the trunk that makes room for 50.5 cubic feet of cargo when the rear seats are not in use. There are also other engine variations that can be maximized to produce 302 horsepower and 382 horsepower. The X2 produces 228 horsepower only. In the case of the Lexus IS, its turbo-four engine only oozes up to 241 horsepower, which is quite dismaying. The V6 version only holds up to 260 horsepower. Today is Earth Day worldwide, so there is no better time than today to discuss what makes Mercedes-Benz an eco-conscious company with sustainability processes that we can be proud of because lets be honest, it’s 2021. Every single action counts right now whether it’s using a reusable grocery bag at the Whole Foods in Commack, to carpooling with a friend to our Huntington dealership! Electrically Powered Vehicles: The EQ Lineup First up in the plethora of actions that the German luxury vehicle company has taken, we have the Mercedes-EQ lineup: luxurious electric vehicles that are powered by a Lithium-ion battery. Electrically powered vehicles are the next wave in terms of cars that Long Island drivers, and people worldwide will be driving due to the fact that they reduce emissions and greenhouse gases that contribute to both climate change and smog. As we have just seen in the premiere of the Mercedes-Benz 2022 EQS, the EQ lineup represents the future of the automobile world with features such as Plug-In Charging, visionary technology exemplified by the Hyperscreen, elegant yet modern styling, while also retaining peak performance. Alongside the 2022 EQS 450+ Sedan, we have the likes of the EQC, EQV, EQA, EQB, EQS SUV, EQE, EQE SUV, and of course, the famous Vision EQS, with a few of the mentioned still in production. Deforestation Compliance Other than the EQ lineup, Mercedes-Benz practices sustainability in a multitude of other ways, one of them being the actions they’ve taken against deforestation, through their activities in the leather supply chain. Not only are they against deforestation, but they demand that their suppliers must be as well by making it a requirement in the supplier contract. The clause states that any materials processed come from areas outside of Amazônia, Cerrado, Pantanal, Gran Chaco, Mata Atlântica and Chocó-Darién. Suppliers are also required to comply with standards in areas such as working conditions, human rights, environmental protection, safety, business ethics and compliance. Mercedes-Benz also uses diverse leather substitutes such as DINAMICA, made of recycled polyester and water-based polyurethane, recycled Econyl fiber, made from yarns created with recycled carpets and old fishing nets fished from the oceans. CO₂-Free Electricity from 2022 Onwards Mercedes-Benz is taking a unique approach to green power concepts by collaborating with energy suppliers Enovos and the Norwegian energy producer, Statkraft. Germany houses the most power plants in which CO₂-free energy is generated using solar, wind and hydro sources. In a claim made on the Daimler website, the company states that from 2022 onwards, Mercedes-Benz will be purchasing electricity in Germany which comes exclusively from these said plants using renewable resources, with a new green power supply contract. These are just a couple examples on the long list of actions that Mercedes-Benz has taken to create a more livable future, that puts the state of our Earth into consideration. More examples include: A push towards CO₂ neutrality with the project Ambition 2039. A creation of a Supplier Ambition Rating for Sustainable Supply Chains. Using waste to create useful materials. The Blockchain Pilot Project: A project for transparency on C02 emissions of climate-relevant gases as well as the amount of secondary material along the complex supply chains of battery cell manufacturers. All of the various projects that Mercedes-Benz immerses themselves with goes to show that the brand is one for the people. Mercedes-Benz has claimed that the 2022 EQS will be an all-electric vehicle on an S-Class level. Though being on the same level as the company’s flagship vehicle is a bold claim to make, Mercedes-Benz did not intend to let it’s customers be left with much to desire after the reveal. Earlier this afternoon on their Youtube Channel, the German luxury brand went above and beyond to show the masses that this new sustainable sedan will live up to the hype with eye-catching visuals, informative details, and even their very own “soundtrack” aside from the musical appearance of Alicia Keys (yes, you read that right, Alicia Keys!) to showcase the vehicle. Through various angles of a beautifully lit camera lens, the outside of the 2022 EQS is shown to be a beautiful display of high quality craftsmanship, similar to the Vision AVTR that was revealed last year. Featuring a host of various recycled and regrown raw materials, the electrically powered S-Class truly is “not just an impressive vehicle, but a commitment to a more balanced world” as Ola Källenius, the chairman of Daimler, and Head of Mercedes-Benz states. The sedan is claimed to have a new shape with a “one bow proportion” that pushes the car forward with a seamless design and the world’s lowest drag coefficient of 0.20, that they intend to define a new generation of cars moving into the future. You’ll feel the sleek and smooth proportions while cruising down the streets of Huntington Village, Suffolk County with this luxury electric vehicle. The black star panel on the face of the car includes integrated headlights with light beams that illustrate the front similar to a display. The real innovation within the vehicle starts on the inside. The first models arriving in the US will have up to 516 horsepower and 611 pound-feet of torque, while the range is expected to be about 478 miles/ 770 km due to the new generation of batteries that feature higher energy density. That range will be more than enough for your day trip out East on Long Island next spring! Not only does the EQS have a battery pack with 107.8 kWh of usable energy and increased cell energy density, but it also includes a roaring 400-volt powertrain. This is just not your average electrical vehicle. Now if you’ve spoken with anybody about the 2022 EQS, the conversation probably revolved around the 56 inch Gorilla Glass coated Hyperscreen, the world’s largest in-car screen. The Hyperscreen is made up of an impressive 8 CPUs, 24 GB of RAM, and 46.4 GBit/s of memory bandwidth. What makes it so revolutionary would be the fact that it is the first time that a car’s whole instrument panel is a screen. Mercedes-Benz Design Chief Gordon Wagener states that the company had dematerialized the hardware, giving the interior a futuristic look that has never been done quite in this way.
