The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the 2022 BMW i8 are worthy contenders and will be great additions to any new car fleet. However, when it comes down to it, which one is the best choice? That’s what we’re here to help you decide! As you’ll see, there are many different aspects to consider when choosing between the two cars. Design & Style Exterior Design When it comes to the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, you will get three exterior shades – white, black and grey. White and grey are calm while black is sporty. As for 2022, BMW 5 Series has two types of body color – red and white. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a top safety pick with an impressive list of standard and optional advanced driver assistance systems, including high-beam assist, drowsiness monitor, and park assist. It is also one of three vehicles to earn an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ designation. In comparison, the 2022 BMW i8 offers less advanced driver assistance systems, but like its rival, it earns top crash test scores and a Top Safety Pick+ designation from IIHS. Performance The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class and 2022 BMW i8 both have 3.0L engines, which you will get in all top-of-range models of each vehicle line. But, looking at other technical specifications for these two units, we can see that the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class engine is much more powerful, especially in terms of torque output (450 lb-ft in 5 series vs. 375 lb-ft in 3 series). So it would be fair to say that performance won’t be an issue here as long as one will go for the basic unit; even then, acceleration and 0 – 60 mph speed are 2 significant benchmarks when comparing vehicles from same segment/class. The Bottom Line One of these two cars could be your daily driver, but only one offers a luxury experience that is second to none. The 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class offers more tech, style, and pure driving pleasure; whereas, you’ll find better handling in a C-Class, although it’s not as refined as its German competitor. If you’re looking for an impressive luxury car or want something fun to drive every day, it may come down to picking a favorite exterior color or going with your gut. The reinvention of the iconic Mercedes-AMG SL has been the talk of every driver on Long Island since it’s unveiling yesterday on the Mercedes-AMG Youtube Channel. Seen as a symbol of performance and luxury for ages, this new seventh-generation debut is shaking things up with some dramatic changes. Let’s start under the hood and the vehicle’s appearances. The new 2022 AMG SL will be offered in SL 55 and SL 63 variants, both with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8, with an estimated 0-60 MPH time of 3.8 and 3.5 seconds for the SL 55 and 63 respectively. This all sounds great but the biggest surprise is that for the first time ever, the new SL 55 and 63 will include standard 4 MATIC+, the Mercedes-Benz and AMG name for all-wheel drive, four-wheel steering, and adaptive dampers, making the vehicle not only sporty, but also practical. The four-wheel steering allows for the sporty roadster to cut it’s turning radius by about two and a half feet, while the adaptive damping gives added stability. Additionally, an optional front-axle lift system can raise the front of the car by 1.2 inches. With an included software that allows the vehicle to remember location such as your steep driveway, the low exit coming out of the Shopping Centers on Jericho Turnpike, and more, the convertible can activate this function automatically. Now that we know the new SL 55 and 63 can pack a punch, let’s get to arguably the most important part, is the car aesthetically pleasing? In our books, yes. The redesigned SL-Class is one of the most beautiful releases we have seen from Mercedes-Benz and AMG these past few years. Can you blame us? The alluring red color in the release trailer was nothing if not eye-catching! With a shark-like design, this new release is aggressive and sporty looking. The car is 185.2 inches long and its wheelbase is 5 inches longer than its predecessor. With a smoother, rounder appearance, the wide Panamericana Front Grille Looks especially stunning. Perhaps more so with triangular LED headlights that perfectly contract the smooth, flowing lines of the overall design! This new release will also be available in many paint colors such as matte options, a bright teal “Hyper Blue”, and much more, making it truly customizable. Similar to the all new 2021 S-Class, shown in one of our newest Youtube videos featured on our channel, and available at our dealership, the body looks extra sleek with flush door handles. One bigger feature that many are excited about is the return of the soft-top on the SL 55 and SL 63. The top gives the vehicle a lighter weight by 46 pounds, making the vehicle more gas-efficient than before. According to the debut, the top is also said to be able to open and close in 15 seconds up to 37 MPH. With all of these new features, plus the 20 or 21 inch wheels, the SL-Class is sure to please the eye. This convertible Mercedes-Benz is a prize both inside and out. Part of the main joys of riding or driving in a Mercedes-Benz is how innovative and luxurious the interior of the vehicle is. What’s new about the 2022 SL 55 and SL 63 is that they both will feature a “2+2” seating arrangement, meaning that these beasts will be able to seat 4 comfortably. The cabin is now larger as well. Unlike most Mercedes-Benz vehicles near you at this time, the digital instrument cluster and large center touchscreen are separate entities, instead of spanning across one sizable piece of glass as people are most used to seeing with the MBUX System. Drivers will be able to adjust the center touchscreen’s angle to help reduce glare from 12 to 32 degrees when necessary. Isn’t that helpful? The turbine style air vents also add a nice touch in making the vehicle have a few standout points that define the interior as “hyper analog”. Using high quality and sustainably sourced materials throughout, you can tell this vehicle was made for the greats. As with many of the Mercedes-Benz vehicles being released as of late, the technology integrated within them is usually the first of its generation, as well as something that becomes a set point for other luxury car brands to seek inspiration from. To name a few, the vehicle will have standard Active Multicontour Massage Seats, Navigation, Heated Steering Wheel, a Surround View Camera System, Burmester Surround Sound Speakers, AIRSCARF Neck Heating Technology, “Hey Mercedes”, and of course, Ambient Lighting. Along with these standard features, other available options include Race Drive Mode, which uses AMG Track Pace, Heads-Up Display, Augmented Reality, and AMG Active Body Control Suspension System. With the also optional Driver Assistance Package comes Adaptive Cruise Control, Steering Assist, Active Lane-Keeping Assist, Cross-Traffic Sensing Emergency Braking, and a helpful automatic parking system, great for parallel parking whenever you may need it in New York City, shopping centers near the Walt Whitman Mall, and more! Other available packages include a Chrome Package, Night Package, and Carbon-Fiber Exterior Package or AMG Aerodynamics Package for the SL 63. Pricing information has not been revealed yet but it is rumored that the new vehicles will hit dealerships in the first half of 2022. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Mercedes-Benz of Huntington is proud to be a continuous donor and participant to helping raise awareness for the ongoing battle that many people all over the world must go through during their lifetime. Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States during their lifetime, making this no small matter. Many people living in Long Island, New York, and worldwide know someone personally fighting this disease, making this a cause that is close to many people's hearts. For those wondering what they can do to help raise awareness, many turn to donating to any of the various amazing organizations that go directly to research, supporting patients, and more. If you drove down Jericho Turnpike Sunday, September 12th, chances are that you saw a multitude of different cars out, ranging from a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing, to an Austin Healy Bugeye, and even a Ford Shelby. Living on Long Island, seeing these cars isn’t a common sight, but our Cars & Coffee Event brought out all the coolest cars out that Long Island has to offer! Our Long Island Car Show was scheduled to start at 8AM Sunday morning, running until 11:00 AM, but we couldn’t believe our eyes when our lot was already full by 8:05. I guess we should have known things were gonna heat up when we counted almost 600 RSVPs by Saturday! Needless to say, we were thrilled. Given this event was scheduled on a Sunday morning, we thought it would only be right to have coffee and bagels, provided by Joel’s Bagels in Medford, a shop owned by our Pre-Owned Assistant Jefferson’s Father. We are so thrilled to have been able to support a local small business that is close to our #MBHuntingtonFamily ‘s heart! All of our attendees were able to enjoy them while walking through our Huntington Dealership’s large new lot, which opened in 2019. For some added fun, our dealership also decided to do a couple of giveaways to make the day extra sweet! First, we decided to give away an exclusive Mercedes-Benz watch, along with an AMG hat for the Best In Show Winner. For our other giveaway, we raffled off a special Autoboxx Car Care Package, provided to us courtesy of Chris Bove of AutoBoxx Inc! We are so thankful to have had Chris and his company be a part of our event! Other than coffee, bagels, muffins, and raffles, our Parts Departmen t also had a tent set up for anyone looking to buy any Mercedes-Benz Lifestyle Accessories, similar to what we sell in our Mercedes-Benz Boutique. Although we did give out complimentary t-shirts for all who came, so many people also got to get their hands on items of their own personal liking as well for friends and family. Both classic cars and sports/performance cars filled up the rows. Earlier this year, German automobile brand Mercedes-Benz revealed the 2022 EQS, an electric vehicle modeled after the iconic flagship vehicle, the S-Class. Earlier on Thursday, Mercedes-Benz took another step into the electric vehicle scene after causing a well received commotion against companies such as Tesla by teasing that they will be adding a new vehicle to the electric clan, the EQE! Details leaked about the EQE have revealed that this electric sedan will be a slightly smaller version of the 2022 EQS 450+ sedan that most Mercedes-Benz lovers in New York have become familiar with. Akin to its name, the sizing will be similar to the MotorTrend Car Of The Year, the E-Class.  A teaser shot of the EQE also shows that the dashboard will be similar to the OLED Hyperscreen design featured in the aforementioned 2022 EQS as well. Although they may be similar, photos have shown that the EQE’s rear haunches and front fenders are more pronounced. The sedan is also rumored to have a short rear deck with an integrated spoiler. As mentioned on Thursday, Mercedes-Benz will be revealing a plethora of new electric-vehicle debuts to the 2021 IAA, including the EQE, an electric AMG, and even a possible electric Mercedes-Maybach.
