The E-Class is designed with sophistication and the exterior is unarguably attractive. The design themes are almost similar across all E-Class forms but you have the option to play it up and customize the styling kits. All models are fitted with a matte-finish trim on the cabin and standard synthetic leather. Options for the real leather are also available, which will significantly make the interior more upscale-looking than it already is.
One look at the Civic and you will see hints of an Audi styling. The dramatic exterior has visible character lines that make it look compelling. The versatile cabin is spacious although the bits of plastic materials show that it can do better with higher-quality stuff.
Onboard the E-Class is the COMAND® infotainment system. The controls for both audio and navigation are intuitive. There are plenty of active safety features, including a forward collision warning system and a Level 2 self-driving tech.
In-car tech for the Civic is updated for 2020 but it is definitely not the best. There are plenty of issues especially on how the infotainment system can tend to be confusing. It also needs a lot of improvement for its functionality.
Underneath the hood of the E-Class is a 241 hp-engine for the base trim and a more capable V8 on the AMG® for up to 603 hp and 627 lb-ft or torque. Both engines are lithe and zippy across different road conditions.
There are plenty of trim levels for each of the three body styles of the Civic. On the base model is a 158 hp engine that is obviously not enough for an exciting drive. Even the performance model is not as exciting with its 2.0-liter engine for only up to 306 hp and 285 lb-ft of torque.
It is easy to see why the 2020 Honda Civic is a well-loved compact vehicle. It serves the purpose well as a city car. If you, however, looks forward to having a well-rounded vehicle that looks and drives like a true luxury car, then the 2020 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is the best one to have.
