2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

2020 Chrysler 300

2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class vs. 2020 Chrysler 300

The 2020 Mercedes-Benz C- Class has aged exceptionally well and it does not feel left out especially with the fresher styling and the added new features. Its charm is effortless whether as a convertible, a coupe, or in a sedan form. Its striking profile is just a preview to its outstanding characteristics.

Another vehicle that has a retro appeal is the 2020 Chrysler 300. It is on its 15th model year but it is still able to carry a formidable stance. It has survived through the years, but will it survive against the C-Class?

Design & Style

The minor updates of the C-Class are so subtle that it can’t be noticed with a quick glance. It still has the attractive silhouette due to the elegant sloped rear end, but now with a new diamond-patterned grille. Although the exterior looks basically familiar, the cabin received most of the satisfying upgrades. There is a fresher layout that complements well with the cutting-edge technology it is equipped with.

The Chrysler 300 has received light design changes since its release back in 2005. It has aged but still looks good. The same neat angles and short-deck shape are still there, along with the elegant faired-in grille.

Technology & Safety

The C-Class won’t be as premium without the latest infotainment system. The controls are so intuitive that it would literally take a few minutes to get used to the controls. The user-friendly audio-navigation systems also work well with both the standard and optional safety features.

If the C-Class has the COMAND® system, the Chrysler 300 has its own Uconnect. It may not be as advanced as the C-Class’ infotainment but it is also one of the best in its class. The graphics are crisp and the touch screen interface is responsive too.

Performance

The C-Class is admirable with the 255-hp engine under its hood. Despite plenty of power, the car stays calm through higher speeds and the capable chassis and ultra-comfortable cabin ensures a smooth ride no matter how bumpy the roads are.

The Chrysler is out to impress with the V6 engine even for a base model. Power delivery is excellent but the steering can feel numb, reminding the driver that the car is far from a true performance-optimized vehicle.

The Bottom Line

The 2020 Chrysler 300 is, in a lot of ways, similar with the 2020 Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It has kept most of its original features but is not afraid to add new features to keep it relevant. It failed, however, to keep everything as classy as the C-Class. Everything looks half-baked, like the tech features. It can be better but settled to be just enough to compete against its rival. This is where the C-Class came out as a winner. It brings very few changes but they are significant. Take its modernized cabin as an example. You will definitely appreciate it because the company always try to offer more than what is expected from them.
