Mercedes-Benz is taking significant strides in the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). As part of their desire to innovate, Mercedes-Benz is expanding the use of AI by incorporating it into the voice control system of their vehicles. This exciting development utilizes the integration of ChatGPT, a powerful language model, into the MBUX Voice Assistant‘s Hey Mercedes feature.

By integrating ChatGPT into Hey Mercedes, the voice control functionality becomes even more intuitive and enhances the overall driving experience significantly. This new feature is set to launch on June 16, 2023, as an optional beta program in the United States, available for over 900,000 vehicles equipped with the MBUX infotainment system.
Participants eligible for the beta program can join through the Mercedes me app or directly from their vehicle using the voice command “Hey Mercedes, I want to join the beta program.” This program will be rolled out over the air, utilizing the Azure OpenAI Service, which leverages the robust capabilities of Microsoft’s cloud and AI platform.
The integration of ChatGPT with Hey Mercedes builds upon the existing success of the MBUX Voice Assistant. Mercedes-Benz’s voice control system is widely recognized for its incredibly intuitive operation and extensive command portfolio.
